At the UCSC Copy Center we offer a variety of operations that enhance the function and appearance of, and add value to, your finished work. Some of those can be performed during the process of printing are (called “inline finishing”), others happen after the job is printed and is being prepared for the final need of the customer.
We perform a variety of binding and finishing operations in our production facility:
Binding
- Collating into sets
- Stapling (corner stapling, two on the side, etc.)
- Saddle-stiching the spine of booklets
- Comb and coil binds, of thicknesses from 1/4″ to 2″
- Hot tape binding
- Other types of binding (hardback, perfect, etc.) are available – let us know what you need!
Finishing
- Cutting and trimming (to size, full bleed, face-trimming booklets, etc.)
- Folding (half-fold, trifold, z-fold, etc.)
- Inserting into envelopes, by hand or by machine
- Drilling/punching (2-hole, 3-hole, multi-hole depending on binding type, etc.)
- Laminating (hot or cold laminate)
- Padding (any size source material smaller than 11″x17″
